Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how SALK AI PRIVATE LIMITED ("SALK AI", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the AIReel website at aireel.co and related services (collectively, the "Service").
We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder, and other applicable laws.
1. Who we are (Data Fiduciary)
SALK AI PRIVATE LIMITED is the data fiduciary responsible for your personal data processed via the Service.

2. Personal data we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account data: name, email, profile photo, and login identifiers handled by our authentication provider Clerk.
- Onboarding inputs: account type, brand assets, voice samples, niche, language, style preferences.
- Payment data: billing name, contact details, and transaction identifiers; full card or bank details are collected and stored by our payment processor Razorpay (we do not store card numbers).
- Content inputs: prompts, scripts, uploads, recorded audio, and other material you submit for generation or posting.
- Communications: messages you send to support and any feedback.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referrer, pages viewed, feature interactions and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 9.
- Logs and diagnostics to maintain security and reliability.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Social platforms you connect (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook) provide tokens, channel IDs, post metadata and analytics in scope of the permissions you grant.
- AI and publishing providers (e.g., Anthropic for model inference, Zernio for publishing) return outputs and operational metadata.
3. How we use personal data
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- To deliver the Service, including generating, scheduling and publishing reels, and operating our daily content pipeline;
- To process payments and prevent fraud;
- To provide customer support, respond to enquiries, and send service notifications;
- To improve, secure and develop the Service, including by analysing aggregated usage;
- To comply with law, enforce our Terms of Service and our Acceptable Use Policy, and to protect our rights;
- With your consent, to send promotional updates (you can withdraw consent at any time).
4. Legal bases
Under the DPDP Act we rely on your consent and on the legitimate uses recognised by the Act (including the provision of services you have requested, compliance with law and protection against fraud). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it as described in Section 8.
5. Sharing of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers (Data Processors) who help us operate the Service, including:
- Clerk — authentication and identity management;
- Razorpay — payment processing;
- Anthropic — large language model inference;
- Zernio — scheduling and cross-posting to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook;
- Hosting, storage, email, analytics and customer-support vendors under written contracts requiring confidentiality and security.
- Social platforms you connect receive the content you choose to publish and the metadata they require.
- Legal and safety: with law-enforcement, regulators or other parties when required by law or to protect rights, safety and security.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality undertakings.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside India. Where we transfer personal data outside India, we do so in accordance with the DPDP Act and only to jurisdictions not restricted by the Central Government. We use contractual safeguards to require comparable protection.
7. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter. Generated content and source inputs may be retained to allow you to re-edit and re-publish them, and are deleted on request or after a defined dormant-account period.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction or update of inaccurate data;
- Request erasure of your personal data, subject to legitimate retention requirements;
- Withdraw consent for processing based on consent;
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India if you believe your rights have been infringed.

9. Cookies
We and our authentication and analytics providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Service and understand usage. You can control cookies via your browser settings; disabling some cookies may break parts of the Service such as login.
10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, principle-of-least-privilege for staff, and regular review of our processors. However, no system is perfectly secure and you use the Service at your own risk.
11. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly process personal data of children. If we learn that we have done so without verifiable parental consent, we will delete the data promptly.
