- ER by reach = total interactions / reach (or impressions) x 100
The engagement rate formula, and what counts as good
Engagement rate is interactions divided by audience, times 100. By followers: ER = (likes + comments + saves + shares) / followers x 100. A good rate depends on platform - roughly 1 to 3% is solid on Instagram, while TikTok often runs 4 to 8% or higher. Smaller accounts usually post higher rates.

What is a good engagement rate?

Should I calculate by followers or by reach?
